Locke was supposed to turn the wheel. Sounds like this is all his fault. Nice that Locke makes the choice to fix the wheel and go back, knowing that he will need to die.
We finally see how Montand "lost his arm." Danielle's story is now complete.
We learned that Smokey guards the Temple. So what's in it. The temple that's covered in hieroglyphics. Confirmed by Damon Lindeloff in a season 4 DVD extra: They got an expert in hieroglyphics to construct them to convey very specific things. For example a large one on the door in Ben's house, when Ben released Smokey, meant "despair". They are supposed to be Egyptian, to add the thought that the island has been around for a very long time.
